For those skiers (or to be honest, just general travellers) who fancy a greener, more environmentally-friendly trip to the Swiss Alps than flying, then the good news is that Eurostar now offer a Ski Train from London St Pancras to Geneva, with one easy change at Lille.
Previously, anyone wanting to get to Switzerland using the Eurostar would need to swap trains in Paris, involving an awkward Metro journey or taxi to get their luggage and gear to another Parisian railway station. The new Eurostar Ski Train to Switzerland is much simpler, with one booking and a seamless change at Lille onto the TGV Lyria train down to Geneva. From Geneva travel to your resort using the famous Swiss rail network and one of the country's great value rail passes.
The Swiss Alps Eurostar Ski Train runs every Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday between late December and early April. The train leaves St Pancras International in London at 12:58 and arrives in Geneva at 20:16. Coming back, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays it leaves Geneva at 08:30 and arrives in London at 14:05, whilst on Sundays it leaves at 10:30 and arrives back at St Pancras at 16:05.
