Klosters in winter. - (c) Destination Davos Klosters
|Ski Area:||Davos Klosters|
Klosters is one of the best known ski resorts in the east of Switzerland. It is located just over 10km north-east of neighbouring Davos, in the canton of Graubünden.
Since the 1960's Klosters has had a reputation for being a favourite haunt of the high society of the skiing fraternity. None more so than the British Royal Family, with the likes of Prince Charles, Lady Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry all having been regular visitors to the pistes of Klosters over the years. However, despite this image, Klosters is actually more low-key than one would expect, especially the night-life which is much quieter than some of the other swanky Swiss resorts such as Crans-Montana and Verbier.
Klosters town centre is situated at an altitude of 1180m, and most of the town is based either side of the Landstrasse street that runs north to south through the town. Many of Klosters amenities including hotels, bars and shops are located along the Landstrasse, with the train station and cable car station both situated just to the west of it. Klosters has plenty of extremely attractive looking hotels dotted around the resort, and the overall look and feel of the town is very attractive, as you'd rather expect of a resort with such a high-class reputation.
The table below shows train times from the main cities and transport hubs of Switzerland to Klosters.
