The Tour de Suisse (also referred to in English-speaking countries as the Tour of Switzerland) is Switzerland's number one cycling event.

A week-long stage race that has a long history dating back to 1933, the Tour de Suisse has become a more interesting part of the cycling calendar than many other similar sized national stage races because of its early-June starting date.

Why ? Well, because it falls before the sport's big annual event, the Tour de France, and with it featuring mountain climbs and a time-trial, it can provide some good clues as to the form of the world's top cyclists before they tackle Le Tour. Indeed, previous winners of the Tour de Suisse, such as Jan Ullrich and Eddy Merckx, have then gone on to claim victory in the Tour de France.

Date of the Next Tour de Suisse Cycle Race (National)
