Switzerland's Annual Events

Switzerland has a great calendar of annual events, ranging from some of the world's leading sporting events, to fantastic visual spectacles and wonderful cultural events. Many of them enhanced with the magnificent backdrop of the Swiss Alps.

The sporting events include the Lauberhorn Ski Races in Wengen every January, and the world famous athletic meets in Lausanne and Zurich every summer.

There are spectacular midwinter events in the heart of the Alps such as the International Balloon Festival in Chateau d'Oex and St Mortitz's White Turf Horse Races on the resort's frozen lake.
